The Architect of the Capitol Office of Inspector General promotes efficiency and effectiveness to deter and prevent fraud, waste and abuse in AOC operations and programs. We do this through value-added, transparent and independent audits, evaluations and investigations. We strive to positively impact the Agency and the tax payer while keeping Congress informed.

AOC programs and operations include maintenance of iconic landmarks such as the U.S. Capitol, Capitol Grounds, Capitol Visitor Center, House Office Buildings, Library of Congress, Senate Office Buildings, Supreme Court and U.S. Botanic Garden.

The AOC is excluded from the Freedom of Information Act of 1966, as amended, and the Whistleblower Protection Act of 1989, as amended; however, the AOC is included in the Congressional Accountability Act of 1995, as amended.
